I am looking forward to working on a large scale with a rare beet harvest for the upcoming ICA Window Installation. This work will be shown in conjunction with a series of exhibitions about astronomy, including Russel Crotty's recent collaboration with the UCSC Lick Observatory and materials from the Lick Observatory's archive.

Pegasus & Mermaids

A group exhibition featuring work by Poetry magazine cover artists depicting the mythical creatures Pegasus and mermaids from poetry immemorial. Artists include Lise Haller Baggesen, Ana Benaroya, Alexander Cohen, Stephen Eichhorn, Carson Ellis, Clay Hickson, Tony Fitzpatrick, Krista Franklin, Julia Goodman, Jenny Kendler, Kate McQuillen, Jessie Mott, Julie Murphy, Diana Sudyka, and Shoshanna Weinberger.

Collaboration with Preston Farm & Winery
Healdsburg, CA
Preston Farm & Winery, a biodynamic vineyard and farm, is growing a diverse beet crop for me to use in my studio. We recently planted eight different varieties of beet seeds on their property, including Albino, a white beet, Cylindra, a purple variety with cylindrical roots, and Mammoth Red Mangel Beets, which can grow up to 20 lbs and is usually used for fodder.

I am thrilled to be one of the 17 local emerging and established artists asked to participate in the SFAC Galleries signature event this year. For this special event, I have created a stamp based on the Jewel Box Star Cluster to combine with paper stained by different varieties of beets. The other 16 artists include Kayan Cheung-Miaw, Richard Colman, Dragon School, Ala Ebtekar, Mik Gaspay, Tanja Geis, Cathy Lu, Terry Luk, Monica Lundy, Mad Lynnerup Golbanou Moghaddas, Ramekon O'Arwisters, Johanna Poethig, Xiaoxiao Zeng and a stamp by Hung Liu.

Farmer John Peterson and Angelic Organics warmly welcomed me to his biodynamic Community Supported Agriculture farm to create a series of ephemeral installations for the farm using beets gleaned harvested straight from his fields.
